Ru woke up and climbed in bed with me for a morning cuddle. We went downstairs and I made his favorite breakfast. Blueberry pancakes, eggs with cheese and a cup of hot tea with cream and sugar.
After a few hours of house sitting duties we departed for the lake. We got Ru's favorite lunch on the way, a bean burrito with sour cream from Taco Bell. After gassing up the boat we took to the water. I am now a proficient tube puller.
Back at mom's house I cooked spaghetti and we all showered off the lake water. At 6pm, Ruben's dad and his friend Polly came over for cake. The carrot cake and chocolate ice cream went surprisingly well with spaghetti.
Polly got Ruben a super big ball and a rocking card, Jeff got Ru a computer game, and I bought him an electricity experiment set. It consists of real tools, batteries, bulbs, wires, and connectors.
After our guests left we worked off the incredible sugar buzz with dancing, chase games, a tickle fight, more dancing and a walk down Jackson Rd. It was nearly dark when we got back.
After watering the driveway down we had our Ruben's Birthday fireworks extravaganza. Our favorite was the killer bees fountain.
When the last spark faded Ru faded just as fast and only three minutes into his bedtime story he was asleep.
