Camping at Dorena Day 1

I had an appointment with the podiatrist on Monday morning, then we packed up the car and left. It sounds simple but it involved cleaning the apartment, doing laundry, and getting together enough supplies for 5 days at the lake. We finally pulled out of Salem around 3pm.
As soon as we got to camp we set up the kitchen and made sandwiches.

We call them Bomb Sandwiches. They include onions, cucumbers, avocado, meat, cheese, mustard, lettuce, and tomato.

The water at Dorena Lake is really low this year. Because they are doing work on two other dams in the area, they needed to use the water from Dorena to keep the Willamette river full and cool for the fish. Mom will have to pull her boat out by the 11th of July. The dock is half on the ground.

We set up the table first, I've had the same camp stove for 15 years.

The new camera takes nice bug pictures.

We spent some time discussing placement of the tent and drinking root beer.

When we got the tent set up Ruben immediately climbed in and fell asleep. I woke him up at 8 and he was back in bed by 9:30 and asleep again.
