Camping at Dorena Day 5 - Ruben's Birthday Party

Jeremy started his day by fishing. Actually he was up until 3am fishing. For some reason catfish like being caught in the middle of the night.

Our hike today took us to Pinard Falls first, then Moon Falls again as Jeremy and Aerielle had never been there. I had never been to Pinard Falls, the trail was steep and rocky compared to the others we had walked on. 

Ruben actually made me nervous with his climbing. 

He found some crystals on the side of the canyon. 

Sliding down the log, lucky he didn't get slivers in his hip.

At Moon Falls. We hiked there next and had a lovely conversation with some locals about the weather and the upgrade of Dorena Dam to include a power plant. 

I went to Safeway and bought Ruben a lemon meringue pie, and some vanilla ice cream for his birthday party. It was a small party, his dad joined Jeremy and Aerielle and I for his celebration.
