Wedding Preparations

Ruben and I drove down Thursday morning to help Mom and Jeff get ready for their wedding.  It was going to be on Saturday, in the back yard surrounded by mom's beautiful flower beds.  When we arrived I whisked mom off to the nail shop in Cottage Grove to get a manicure and pedicure.  It was just what she needed as she was a little stressed out about some recent events such as the tractor being stuck in a ditch behind the pump house, and the grounds being in a state of general disarray.

Returning from the salon all events were put in order in a timely fashion.
  • The patio got pressure washed
  • Tractor got removed from ditch (Many thanks to uncle Neil)
  • The pump got fixed (Someone ask Jeff to tell the story)
  • Tables and chairs were moved around
  • Guest room was tried out
  • Windows were washed
  • Vows were rehearsed
  • Groceries, party supplies, pizza, tables, chairs, beer, and flowers were picked up (Max and I were runners)
  • Songs were chosen both live and recorded
  • Shannon came and cleaned the downstairs
  • Signs were made and hung
We spent Thursday night at moms house and went home Friday afternoon.  I stayed up late Friday night going through my mass of sheet music to choose songs for the wedding.  I talked two good friends into playing with me, and we chose songs that were easy and that mom could join us in singing or playing.  Because we didn't have any time to rehearse I was worried about making easy choices.
