Ruben woke up first this morning, bright and early at 9am. The rest of us soon followed. I made a delicious breakfast of banana apple pancakes, and Aerielle made scrambled eggs (her first time cooking them). We took a while getting ready for the day, and eventually made it out of the apartment in time for free lunch at Liberty Elementary. The kids really enjoyed riding in the back of the convertible, until we hit the freeway and it got windy.

After lunch I took everybody to the Kroc center for swimming and rock wall climbing. The boys couldn't wait to get in the pool so they took a plunge while Aerielle and I did some art and she climbed the wall. We all ended up going down the water slide, drifting in the current, and playing in the outdoor fountain. About the time when everyone was exhausted and hungry, but before the whining set in we came back home. A bbq burger and chips later and our friends departed back to their home in Springfield.

Ru and I watched Summer Rental (starring John Candy) and rested for a bit then Ru suddenly became aware of the voices of ecstatic children coming from the pool. We once again donned our bathing suits and headed for chlorinated excitement. Ru brought his awesome water guns and had a great fight with our cool neighbors while I did what I do best; lay in the sun with a book and soak up as much radiation as possible (with some spf).
It wasn't long before I was collapsing in the fluff chair with a bowl of Cajun popcorn playing Zelda Twilight Princess on the Wii and Ru was giving me advice on how to play. Bedtime came quickly.
