Summertime Again!

Last day of school for us was Friday, and now we are ready for summer to begin.

Well Ruben was ready, he went to his dad's house where he Skyped me and told me he wanted this Mario game for his birthday. So I ordered it.  Done. That was easy.
Then his dad sent me this cute picture.

 I caught a bug and practiced napping. When I woke up it was time for a smoothie and a trip to the fabric store.  Simplicity patterns were on sale for two bucks each.

I also bought some sparky pink fabric.  They lure me in with their cheap patterns and then gouge me with their fabric prices, but oh well. I'm not sewing any renaissance dresses this summer so I didn't need as much material.  I just finished my men's dress shirt refashioning and wanted some tops that were more fitted.  I might make another top out of jeans, I saw one in this old movie I liked. I liked the top, not necessarily the movie, but the movie did have a great ending.

The pool opened in our apartment complex. I must say having the pool right outside your door is great if you like to swim, but how many games of Marco Polo can you listen to in one day?  

The garden is growing, but due to my busy schedule and lack of consistency watering the lettuce all died.  It's been too warm to replant.  Fortunately the tomatoes and peppers love the heat, and the herbs were growing so fast I had to cut down half of each plant. 

Our next adventure is the beach house. Crabbing, fishing, hiking, and playing music starting Monday the 15th. As soon as we get back we are going camping!
