Lake House

My friend Jeremy invited us to go to a lake house near Florence for a few days and hang out with his family and best friend who was visiting from North Carolina. We met up in Florence and went straight to South Jetty for some crabbing. We caught lots of crabs, but they were either small or female so after lots of stinky dead fish bait, and dodging sea gulls, we headed to the lake house.

Headed out of town on our summer adventure. WOO HOO!

The lake house was a great surprise.  The lake was lovely with some sun peeking through the clouds. Jeremy got a fishing pole set up and started fishing, and after snacks we got Ru's pole set up and he did some fishing too. The fish were so plentiful that every time you put in a worm you caught a fish within seconds.  The fish were literally jumping out of the water and biting the hook.  Ru had a worm stolen off his hook so he was fishing without a worm and a fish came up and got caught on the hook! I've never heard of such a thing!
Chips, cottage cheese, salsa, and beans

Jeremy is on the dock, perhaps looking at the fish.

The first fish he caught all by himself.

Aerielle's first catch of the day.

Blue Heron on the dock next door

Waterlillies

We heard it before we saw the nest.  Mom osprey brought some lovely fish to the babies.

The girls went for a canoe trip and brought back some water lilies.

As dusk approached we headed into Florence to get some dinner.  After dinner we had BJ's Ice Cream. When we got back to the lake house the kids played Clue while Jeremy and I played music. When we crashed we crashed hard.
