Disney Day 1

Today we woke at 5am, and by 5:45 we were on the freeway. Cab picked us up and drove us to the Portland airport. We made it through a very long TSA line and then got to the gate just as they started boarding. Ruben was pretty impressed with the first takeoff and landing, but we had a stopover in San Jose and the second time it was old hat.

We got an Uber to the hotel, ($24) checked in, and within minutes our groceries were delivered from Vons. (WATER and snacks. They have a deal if it's your first order, and you order over $50, you get $20 off and delivery is free)

So hours ahead of schedule we went to Disneyland. We got our tickets validated, got a picture taken and signed up for photo pass, then we got a fast pass for Grizzly River Run. It was HOT and we were hingry so we went to get a taco.

Fed and in good spirits we checked the Disney app for short lines and saw that California Screaming was only a 5 minute wait. So we rode, and I screamed. Then we got on Grizzly River with 5 people so large they didn't fit in the seats. We got soaked, but that was okay.

We grabbed fast passes for Soaring over the World and went to Disney. The line on Star Tours was air conditioned so we waited 30 mins for it, then went back to ride Soaring. It was really improved! I was tired of being wet so we went back to the hotel to shower and change.

We had dinner at Blue Bayou at 7:45pm. My salmon and cheesy mashed potatoes were fantastic. Ruben got a new glowing ice cube.

Then we rode Pirates and Haunted Mansion because there were no lines.
We snuck out between parade time and fireworks and went
back at the hotel where we fell asleep quickly.
