My plan was to finish the watering at Dave's then go home for the night. I desperately needed to do laundry, take the longest shower in the world, hug Cab, and pet my cats.
I got to Salem mid afternoon, with energy to spare. I did a quick run, lifted a few weights, then disappeared to the shower for a long time.
I dressed up as Salem Emily (bra and eyeliner), started the laundry, and met Cab on the patio for a drink.
As soon as we set down Jenkins showed me his frustration at me being gone for a week by jumping up on Cab's lap and staring at me. He forgave me a few minutes later and deposited large amounts of cat hair on my polka dot dress. After some deep breaths and conversation, Cab and I went out to dinner. Then we window shopped downtown. Then we went grocery shopping. Exhausted I fell asleep in my own bed at 10pm.
Sunday morning I woke up and Cab cooked me a delicious breakfast. I went to do my Buddhist practice with Judy, then taught a martial arts class for the Starr family. Back home for another quick shower and I hit the road headed south. Ruben was already at Dave's looking after things, so I helped him water and then spent some more time in the hammock listening to my audiobook.
I've gotten through a few so far this vacation, I listened to Agatha Raising and the Love from Hell, American Kingpin (about the silk road drug website designer), You'll Grow Out of It (memoir of a comedian), and I'm currently on The Most Beautiful which is a memoir from one of Prince's wives about living with the amazing musician. I love working while listening to stories. Autobiographies and Memoirs are my favorites. Next on my list is Boys in the Trees by Carly Simon.
