Yurt Camping Day 2

What a surprise to wake up on the Oregon coast and have it be sunny and warm!  After a delicious breakfast of blueberry pancakes and turkey bacon we readied ourselves for a hike.  The plan was to all take my car (Me, Mom, Jeff, and Ru) and drive to Heceda Head Lighthouse where we would hike back to camp.  Mom would take me back later for my car.  We started from the beach below the lighthouse and went up.  Up to the lighthouse, and then up the ridge above it.  We didn't get nosebleeds from the altitude but it was close.  The view was amazing. So were the hikers, nobody whined.  As Jeff put it, it was a no 911 day. We took our time, and had snacks, conversations, and even a few songs.
The map was wrong.  There was no way that we climbed that 600 food ridge and came down in only 1 1/2 miles.  No way. It felt like 5 miles easy.

Yea he's cool.

Aw.

Yep, a hole.  Then he climbed in.

Coincidence?

Another coincidence?

Ruben built this fire himself, paper, split the wood, piled it up.  Dude needs a merit badge or something.
Our original plan was to take the inland trail back to the camp but the beach was just too inviting.  We took off the coats, shirts, shoes, socks, and walked the mile and a half back to camp.
Tiredness set in and the adults took a rest while the child played with fire.  We had another delicious dinner, another delicious marshmallow fest (mom set the record at 6 marshmallow skins) and another peaceful night of sleep to the sound of the ocean.
