Kroc Center

This morning I got my hair bleached blonde.  For me this meant sitting in a chair being pampered and talking with my great new hair stylist.  For Ruben this meant an entire morning of boredom waiting around for me to get my hair done.  To be fair to him I told him I would take him to the Kroc Center in north Salem in the afternoon.

The Kroc Center is an odd mix of community center, water park, gym, climbing wall and church.  Its ran by the Salvation Army.  Its pretty awesome, and only marginally expensive.  Ruben loved the water slide, I lost count of how many times he went on it.  In the pool area there was a water play structure, fountains, indoor river, lap pool, diving boards, and an outdoor fountain area. When we got there the climbing wall was packed but the pool was empty. An hour later the pool was packed and the climbing wall was empty. Ru swam for two hours then climbed till his fingers lost their grip.

I spent the rest of the evening with a blistering headache, and Ru spent the rest of the evening watching Dr. Who and being an exhausted lump on the couch.

Finally blonde (my last hair color was a disaster)

He was a natural.  Climbed all the way to the top twice.
