Yurt Camping Day 1

I woke Wednesday morning to the sounds of classical guitar.  Ron was up and was entertaining Ruben so I could sleep in.  So I did.
After a delicious breakfast and some cowboy songs (to get into the camping mood) Ru and I packed up our ride and headed west.  We arrived at the beach to warm sunshine and a light breeze.  We drove top down from Salem, through Newport and south to our destination at Washburne Park just north of Florence.  (stopping for ice cream of course)

Mom and Jeff had arrived before us and had claimed a camp site near our yurt.  We quickly unpacked and we all took the 1/2 mile hike under the highway to the beach.  We all entertained ourselves in various ways, I read and sunbathed, Ruben climbed and dug, and Jeff and Mom walked the beach.  We all had a great time.

When we got back to camp Jeff and Mom took on the awesome responsibility of cooking us some dinner while Ru and I regrouped and brought over smores and guitar. After our delicious dinner I introduced Jeff and Mom to the idea that you can take a great idea such as a smore and make it even more delicious by adding a peanut butter cup instead of regular chocolate.  (Skor bars and Nestle Crunch are also delicious)
I played some old camp songs on the guitar while Mom and Ru sang along and before we knew it we were falling asleep to the sound of the ocean in our comfy yurt.
