I went back to the condo and had breakfast, and took a top off drive in the rental jeep to the snorkel store to pick up rental chairs, umbrella, and boogie board. The rental guy gave us some coupons and a map of the local beaches. We stopped off at the local grocery for some mixers and went back to Honokeana Cove.
The coolness factor of seeing such neat fish, coral, and other marine life made me overcome my fear and I spent about an hour floating around looking at things. I saw huge colorful fish, spotted fish, anemones, coral in many colors and shapes, schools of dark colored fish, white fish with very long fins that trailed behind them, small colorful fish I think are called mollys, and a few other humans. The turtle "Ted" was absent.
Cab took some action shots of me, so I took some action shots of him:
We were in and out of the water for a while, and after lunch we decided to go for a walk, to check out Napili bay beach. It was busy, but not so crowded there was no room. The walk was lovely over some rocks overlooking the ocean. The actual beach was really steep, and hard to walk on. It was much more fun to float about in the surf going up and down with the waves. There were a lot of people doing that, and lots of them were wearing hats, holding cups, and probably making a day of it. Kids on boogie boards, or body surfing were plentiful as well. I didn't get a picture of the beach action, but we took selfies and awesome pictures of each other.
After the swim in the ocean we rinsed off in the beach shower and came back to our cove, to take a swim in the pool. It was 3:30 when we got back. We were amazed, it felt like bedtime. So we sat around watching some shows on tv, then ate, then ran to put the top on the jeep when the rain suddenly started.
Maui didn't disappoint us however, and a few hours after the rain we got to witness another amazing sunset.
