We knew it was coming, the lake has been going down by about four inches per day. We knew we had a limited time left to get the boat out or we would be dragging it not across the grassy muck but across large rocks that scrape off the bottom of the hulls.
I tried to find a friend with a truck on Wednesday, but that fell through so we would have to wait until Thursday when Mom and Jeff got back from camping and use their truck. Thankfully they agreed to let us use it!
While I waited at home on Wednesday I cleaned house, sewed two shirts (more refashioned mens shirts) and did laundry while Ruben played with his good friend Leanna. I packed up a lot of the camping gear to be ready for Friday.
So on Thursday I got up early and drove to Joann Fabric to get patterns. They were having a pattern sale ten for ten dollars. I got lots of costumes that I may or may not make. I offered to help some of the ladies in my madrigal group make new costumes but they were cool to the idea. I'm going to make a new underdress for myself.
When I got home I cooked a whiny Ruben eggs with cheese, and made him tea. Then we packed the car with all our gear and took off for the lake. It was really windy and we were really excited about sailing. When we got on the water though, one of the rudders wouldn't stay down. It took Fred with a screwdriver to fix it. We all had a great sail, and a nice long swim, then we got the boat all packed up.
We drove to Mom's house where she had just gotten home and we helped decamper their truck. We had a lot of trouble trying to get the trailer attached to the truck, and ended up making a trip to the store, but after that things went smoothly and we were able to get the boat to its temporary home.
Tomorrow Ru and I are joining Jeremy and his two kids on a trip to the Redwoods. I booked a campsite at Panther Flat Campground on Smith River.

| Refashioned mens shirt. It's too bad I didn't get a picture of the back, Its shoulderless and I used the cuffs as an artistic accent. |

| Some of the patterns I got, I hope Aerielle will want to make one. |
