What a fun weekend! Ru and I went to Skate World Friday night. Remarkably nobody fell. Then we went to Jeremy's house and ate ice cream. Jeremy got a really good deal on a mountain bike from some hippies moving to Alaska and he gave it to me for my birthday! We took it for a short ride.
Saturday we got up before the heat and went to play a full 18 baskets of disc golf at the Dexter Lake course. We had never played the second half of the course before, I liked it better than the first half. I threw very well! Ru and I hung out a bit longer holding down the couch and then took off for Salem.
I had bought tickets from
Groupon for the Salem Walking Ghost Tour and it was so much fun! We met at the steps of the state capital at 7pm, and walked all over downtown. There were many many stories of eerie happenings, but most fun were just the stories of Salem's history. We learned about the thriving underground, the houses of ill repute, and saw the phantom doll. (email me if you want to hear the song, and I'll forward it to you) I was doubly excited because I finally found a deal on a good camera, and was able to take real pictures. (16megapixel with an optical zoom) read more about ghost tours
here if you are interested.
I didn't get pictures from skating and disc golf, but Ru filmed a lot of it on his gopro that he bought with his birthday money. If he makes it into a youtube video I'll link to it later.
Here are ghost tour pictures, many of them are just me taking pictures of buildings to try out my new camera, but there is one of the phantom doll.
