Projects, and Vacation Bible School

Sunday I made breakfast burritos for lunch. We got up that late.  I did all of our laundry, and all day long we didn't go anywhere.  That was a nice change.
Ruben spend a good portion of the day catching up on educational programming, ok yea he was watching Spongebob Squarepants.

I worked on my little meditation table.  I put it all together and it actually fit together just perfectly!  Today I bought some wood filler to cover up the screw holes and patched them all in.  Tomorrow I'll do a final sanding and put on the first coat of paint.
Ruben found Grandma's puppet in the garage while he was supervising the shelf building.

We took the dog for a walk down Jackson Rd.  Well he took us for a walk.  We jogged most of the way. I don't know who was more worn out when we got back.

Fred felt like he missed out on marshmallows because he didn't get to stay at the campground for the smores goodness, so he roasted a couple on the barbecue.  Peanut butter cup smores are fantastic.

No floaters...

We got up this morning at 6:30am and drove to Salem. Ruben is going to Vacation Bible School and I don't want to have a housesitter that long.  It was nice to see how well my mini garden is doing, lots of blossoms on my tomato plants, and the lettuce and spinach I planted just before we left last week is up and growing quickly.   In my mailbox when I got up to Salem this morning was a jury summons.  Not only do I not have child care I'm not even in Salem on the first. I have mixed feelings about the whole jury duty situation. $10 a day? seriously!

I signed up Ruben for Vacation Bible School at the Trinity Covenant Church.  Its about half a block from our apartment and he knows a lot of the kids there because that's where he goes after school.  He said it was about the same as last year when he went to the one at the Catholic Church. He's not too impressed with the whole religious thing, I however want him to have as many social experiences as he can.  When I came to pick him up I saw him standing in a pew singing his little heart out and doing the motions to some songs.  So when I ask him how it was and he says "okay" I just sigh.  The only thing he has ever really acted excited about is Disneyland.
 Today's catlap.
Fred is making a shoe shelf for us to put beside the sliding door.  Perhaps it will keep our carpets from getting so nasty. He's putting putty in his screw holes so we can paint together tomorrow.

Ruben went to his last counseling appointment today.  His last because he doesn't seem to need it anymore.  The little guy is pretty darn happy.  He was cracking up the counselor telling him jokes and stuff. We'll miss Doctor Phil though, he was a pretty great guy.

Mom called me and said we have to clean the mansion and get everything out of sight for a realtor showing on Wednesday.  I hope something great comes of it!

Today was one of those days where the good and the bad balance out in a way that's like a see saw.  Up one minute down the next. I want the sunshine back.
