Home for a while

Last week when I went to LeRina's house to play makeup, she used this fantastic eye shadow on me. I may not use quite as much as she did, but I loved the colors so much I ordered it.
When it arrived I was disappointed because the colors are SO vivid I didn't think I'd ever get a chance to use it. The next day when Cab and I were headed to Oregon Garden for a romantic weekend getaway, I got a text from the bass player of FBI. They found a keyboard player!!!! So I may get a chance to pile on the sparkle on stage after all. I knew there was a reason for buying teal glitter eye shadow!

Also on Saturday I put a quick order in to Walgreens photo to get prints made of some of our summer adventures, then hung them on the fridge.

I was amused, our before dinner snack at Oregon garden. Cab had coffee and cheddar Chex mix, I had crackers with brie and red wine.
The dinner was good, the wine was better, and the walk through the garden was wonderful. There was a band setting up for a wedding, and it was shaping up to be a great night. We went to the bar for happy hour and played some trivial pursuit. Cab won. We didn't stay for too long though because the band playing in the lounge was AWFUL. They managed to turn overdone 70's rock and roll songs into dirges. We left before we got too depressed.

The next day after I picked up Ru and delivered him to his computer, Cab and I put on our finest and went to Emily Finicle's wedding to Jeremiah Davison. Jeremiah had worked in my class for a while as an IA, and Emily is the daughter of a long time coworker. There were many teachers in attendance including my principal and the principal who preceded her, as well as the middle school superintendent. I was plum tuckered out so we didn't say long after the ceremony, but the Jew and the Buddhist said prayers for the newlyweds and gifted them a serving set.
I wore my wedding hat.

Another thing I've been up to is teaching martial arts. No pictures, but a local family who I have connections with both as teacher of a daughter and singer with the mother, asked me to teach a private class for their family. We are on our 5th class and they are doing a great job. Their fitness range was very wide, so my biggest challenge was to make the fit one work, while not killing the less fit one. It feels good to be teaching/doing martial arts again. When I do it regularly I'm stronger, leaner, more peaceful, (go figure right?) and more graceful.

Marty's case broke! the 70 year old leather that fastened the handle on the case just wore out. I contacted Martin company to see how to get it fixed. I might have to just take it to a leather shop.

Speaking of music, Wednesday night at rehearsal pictures below.
We went through the first set, and were about to be done when a party came in. I'm not kidding. 15 neighbors with a box of wineglasses and wine to go in them. They uncovered the pool table and racked them up, and they really grooved on our tunes. Some danced! So fun for a Wednesday night. We did a whole extra set.

Gerrit who just retired from being a drug cop

Nate who works in a care home for adults with significant mental disabilities.

Brian who works for Uptown music (and many schools including Judson) doing instrument repair.
