I worked my butt off to be ready to go to Vegas for Cab's 50th birthday the weekend of March 6. I was taking two days off work, so I did IEP's every day, worked till late, and by the time we went on the trip I was a big stress case. Two days after we got back from Las Vegas I fell apart. Cab's birthday. Pain in my chest, pressure, cough, throat pain, anxiety...
So I missed the last two days of school, before school was cancelled. Cab had the flu for his actual birthday. He recovered quickly, me not so much. I was diagnosed with lupus, and hashimotos thyroiditis, GERD, ulcer, and gallbladder issues. I met with a nutritionist, naturopath, GP, acupuncturist, and counselor. I've started taking 7 supplements and 3 medications. I'm very very slowly improving.
And then Coronavirus came to Oregon. School was cancelled March 13. They said it would be cancelled until the end of April, but it seems pretty clear that we won't be going back to school this year. Teachers are preparing for online education starting next week, and Ru and I have been only leaving the house for walks, and groceries. We are being very careful. My white blood cells are few and weak.
We pass our time gaming (Ru) watching TV (me) and relaxing. I've really been to sick to do much, but I've sewed some purses, and as I'm able to eat more I have started lifting a few light weights, and walking farther. I chat online with the Starr family, and with Cab. I don't see him in person, keeping to "social distancing". Ru and I are both basically introverts, and we are really doing okay with all this staying home, especially since I'm sick.
I think the cats are happy we are home, and getting more lap time. Ru moved the super nintendo to the TV in my room and we played some Mario, I'm looking forward to playing Spyro on the PS1.
So here are some pictures from our staycation.
Monday night after I got back from Vegas. Practicing guitar, thinking things would continue on just as usual. I missed band rehearsal so I felt like I better practice.
Tax refund bought me a record player.
Two days later I crashed hard. I haven't really recovered.
Ru reading to me as I lay in bed.
Jenkins trying out the cat tower for the first time.
My new bed, with room for cats.
They like each other sometimes.
Not only was he in the sun, the heater was blowing on him.
He was trying to guilt me into playing with him.
In February Marty had an accident. I just got him back. Uptown Music saved the day.
Billy watching the squirrel on the fence. He had a hard transition back to being an inside cat.
Some purses I made. Not as good as the ones I made a week later.
My home recording studio.
Chatting with Sarah
I bought some paleo autoimmune cookbooks. I miss simple carbs.
Working from home.
My attempt to get Ru to do stuff. It kinda works.
Excellent recipe, but I made it with beef stew meat instead of lamb.
My home office
Ru making some masks.
Bacon wrapped pears.
My Mom and Jeff came up to drop off some gifts, one of which was this lovely barrette.
Playing Mario 3 with Ru on the SNES in my room.
Cab butt jeans purse. I really like this one. It will look cute with my new spring clothes. Thank goodness online shopping doesn't take much energy. My new spring look: (that nobody will see other than the necklines)
The Starr family has kittens! We get regular views via kitten cam.
On a walk. Before the rain.
Bruce bought me a needle upgrade for my new turntable.
Patio inspiration. I may not have a yard (sniff) but I can make my patio nice. Very next day I placed an order with Home Depot.
